Out-of-District High School Students

Students who currently attend high school outside of the New Westminster School District are considered out-of-district students.


REGISTRATION IS OPEN. 

Important:

  • Students are expected to log in and begin working on their course within one week of receiving their welcome email. Please wait to submit your form to your counsellor until you are ready to start your course.
  • Students are permitted to take a maximum of two online courses at a time.
  • Our courses are designed for students with strong English skills. English Language Learners may enroll in New Westminster Online Learning courses only if they are currently at ELL Level 4 (Consolidating) or higher. Students enrolled in BA ELL (ESL) classes are not eligible to take online courses.

Follow These Steps to Register:

Step 1: Download the Registration Form

Download the Out-of-District Youth Registration Form.

Step 2: Complete the Form

  • Fill out all required sections of the form.
  • Have your parent/guardian sign the form.

Step 3: Submit the Form to Your School Counsellor

  • Give the completed and signed form to your school counsellor or academic advisor.
  • Important: Forms cannot be submitted by students themselves.  We will only accept forms directly from the school counsellor or advisor.

Step 4: Counsellor/Advisor Approval

  • Your counsellor will review the form.
  • If approved, they will sign it and submit it on your behalf.

Instructions for School Counsellors or Academic Advisors:

Step 1: Email the Completed Registration Package

Send an email to onlinelearning@sd40.bc.ca with:

  • The completed and signed registration form attached.
  • Use the subject line: Registration – Student Last Name, Student First Name, School Name

Step 2: Attach the Student Profile Report

Include the Student Profile Report from MyEducation BC:

Reports → Other Jurisdiction → Student Profile

Step 3: Wait for Confirmation

  • If the registration package is complete, the student will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to begin their course.
  • Please remind students to allow up to 2 weeks for processing.
  • Students should check their junk/spam folders in case the email is filtered.
