Registration - High School Students & Youth (19 and Under)

High School Students & Youth

Students born July 1, 2002 or later are considered youth.

Summer Courses:

We will be offering Career Life Education 10 and Career Life Connections 12 as summer online courses (conditional on sufficient student enrollment).

These courses will open on July 4th and are designed to be completed by August 5th.  They will NOT extend into September 2022.

These courses are NOT for adult students or graduated students.

Students wanting any other summer courses should register through Summer Learning.

In-District High School Students

If you are a student attending high school in our district (New Westminster), please speak with your school counsellor/advisor. You will be asked to fill out an In-District Youth Summer Registration Form, which will need to be signed by your parent/guardian.  These forms are also available at the NWSS Counselling Office.

High Schools outside of New Westminster School District

Please read the instructions carefully to avoid delay in your registration.

If you are a B.C. high school student enrolled in a school outside of our district (New Westminster), you are welcome to take our online courses as long as it is a new course for you (you are not dropping the classroom course in your current school).

To register:

  1. Download the Youth Summer Registration Form, save it, and fill it in. Have your parent or guardian and your school counselor complete the relevant sections.  Your school counsellor must approve your course(s).
  2. Ask your school counselor for a copy of your MyEducation BC Student Information Verification Form.
  3. Scan and attach both documents in your email to us at virtualschoolbc@sd40.bc.ca, using subject line: E-registration – your last name, your first name, your school name.
  4. Provided the information is complete and the correct documentation is provided, you can expect an email confirmation within 3 school days.

Failure to include all the required information will delay your registration. Please do not send your registration package in more than once.

Youth (born July 1, 2002 or later) who no longer attend high school or have graduated

Registration for this school year is now closed.  Students wanting summer courses should register through Summer Learning.

Please check back for September registration information in late August.
